Diane "Toots" Saviano Smith, 73 returned to her heavenly home on April 8th, 2022, peacefully. Services will be at 10am at St. Peters Catholic Church, followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery in Kansas City, MO. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Susan G Komen Foundation.
Diane was the second child of Daniel and Earline Saviano. She was born June 6, 1948 in Kansas City, MO.
She attended St. Marys Grade School and graduated from Bishop Hogan High School in 1966. She worked at Social Security Administration and retired March 2006 after 39 years of service.
Dianes whole life centered around her daughters and more recently around her 4 grandchildren: Abby, Brooke, Chace and Tessa. She spent many hours as a PTA officer, Girl Scout Leader, chaperoning the youth group at the church, singing in chorus at SSA and her church. She helped start a volunteer committee at SSA, volunteered at St. Joseph Hospital for 6 years, Christ the King food pantry and other programs at her church. She enjoyed helping others and always with a smile.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother, brother, both sets of grandparents and a nephew.
She is survived by her daughters, Kelley Werkowitch and Nicole Lenihan and the love of her life- her grandchildren and her 7 siblings and many nieces and nephews.
The Visitation for Diane will be held at St. Peters Parish and School, located at 815 E Meyer Blvd, Kansas City, Missouri 64131, on Wednesday, April 20th, 2022 from 10:00 am 11:00 am, with the Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Following the services at St. Peters Parish and School, will be the burial at Forest Hill & Calvary Cemetery, located at 6901 Troost Ave, Kansas City, Missouri, 64131.
