Debra Denise Boyer, born on August 1, 1952, in Kansas City, MO, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2025, in Independence, MO. She was a beloved mother, cherished sister, and a dedicated friend who brough joy to those around her.
Debra had a successful career as a pharmacy technician for many years, where she was known for her compassionate nature and her unwavering commitment to her work. Her colleagues admired her dedication and the kindness she showed to every patient who walked through the pharmacy doors.
A passionate sports fan, Debra loved to watch NASCAR and enjoyed cheering on her favorite teams in her favorite sports. Her enthusiasm for sports was particularly evident in her loyalty to hockey and the Kansas City Chiefs, a passion she shared with her family and community. Debra also held a special affection for penguins, celebrating this love by collecting items that represented her fondness for these charming creatures.
Debra is survived by her sons, Shane Harmon, Tyler (Brooklyn) Boyer and Chris (Lindsey) Boyer; and her daughter Amanda (Michael) Crawford. She was also the proud grandmother of 10 and proud great-grandmother of 5. She leaves behind her siblings, Heather Waite, Neal (Emma) Waite, Chris Waite, and Gary Waite, who will carry her memory in their hearts.
Debra is preceded in death by her father, Cecil Waite, her mother, Betty Mae (Ellis) Waite, and her husband William T. “Bill” Boyer.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Debra’s life during a Visitation on July 14, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a Memorial Service beginning at 11:00 AM at Muehlebach Funeral Care, 6800 Troost Ave., Kansas City, MO 64131. The burial will take place later that day at Newton Burial Park in Nevada, MO as soon as the procession arrives, estimated to be around 1:30pm.
Debra Denise Boyer will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of kindness, love for sports, and passion for life will continue to inspire those left behind.
