David Trapp

May 24, 1954 — January 24, 2021

David Schultz Trapp, 66, of Kansas City, KS passed away on January 24, 2021. David was born on May 29, 1954 to Donald B. and Barbara C. (Dakey) Trapp in Kansas City, KS. He graduated from Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, KS. David was an original member of the Open Door Baptist Church where he loved to run sound for rehearsals and services. Fishing was his other love and passion. David liked to tinker with things from a very early age. He would often take apart something to see how it worked. He would then be in trouble for not being able to put things back together again. This led him to working on cars and trucks that he owned (He loved his Toronado and every one of his trucks.). His friend Tex talked him into running lights and sound for bands and that's where he found his niche. He loved being a soundman and talked about it to the very end. He was also a dreamer and dreamed of having a boat, specifically, a pontoon to fish from at the lake. There's a country song that says, "Money can't buy me love, but it can buy me a boat and a truck to pull it!" That was Dave!
David is survived by his sister, Liz Trapp of Kansas City, KS; brothers, Fran Trapp of Kansas City, KS, and Chuck Trapp of Butler, MO.
