David Murphy Ryan, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grand, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, May14, 2024, at his residence in Kansas City, MO. He was 83 years old.
Born on October 1, 1940, in Richmond, MO to William and Nellie Ryan, David spent the majority of his life in Kansas City, where he touched the lives of many with his kindness and generosity. On November 20, 1983, he married the love of his life, Patricia L. Ryan (Stoneberger), who lovingly cared for him until the end.
David is survived by his devoted wife Patricia. He is also survived by three sons: William D. Ryan of Tullahoma, Tennessee; Rocky Lyn Cisco of Kansas City, MO; Michael Wayne Ryan of Kansas City, MO; one daughter: Regina Lynn Dowd (Ryan) of Independence, MO; two sisters: Ruth Mae Dodson, Independence, MO, and Nellie Evelyn Liggett, Richmond, MO; and numerous Nieces & Nephews. Although he was preceded in death by his sons James Ray City and Gary Wayne Cisco, and his sister Edna Creason and brother Sam Ryan, David's legacy lives on through his ten grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
During his professional career, Mr. Ryan worked at Percy Kent Bag Company on Winner Road in Kansas City, Missouri. His dedication and hard work left a lasting impact on those around him.
In honoring David's memory, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the
Diabetes Association or the
American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
Services to celebrate David Murphy Ryan's life will be held at Muehlebach Funeral Care in Kansas City on May 21st. A visitation will take place from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. The final farewell will occur at Forest Hill & Calvary Cemetery with a graveside service starting at 2:00 PM.
David Murphy Ryan will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace while his memory lives on forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
