Corporal Baden P. Ratterman, 22, United States Marine Corps, died tragically from internal injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident on June 3, 2017 in Kapolei, Hawaii. The details of the accident are unknown. A Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 18th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Muehlebach Funeral Care, 6800 Troost Ave., KCMO. Baden was born June 26, 1994 and raised in Kansas City, Missouri.
Baden was the comedian among his family of thirteen. He could make anyone he encountered laugh. He loved dancing and being around people. He was an avid socialite and a good listener. People would often come to him to talk about their problems. He had the knack for making people comfortable around him. He spent most of his life helping others, doing the little things that would otherwise go unnoticed. The last moments of his life was spent alone, away from his family and sweetheart.
However, he was spontaneous and impulsive too. Which may have been what cost him his young life. Baden was not an earthly saint but no one is. He had many internal struggles which he fought his whole life. On his behalf, the family requests prayers for his immortal soul.
Before his death, he was blessed by God and anointed by a Catholic priest.
As a Marine, he was a helicopter mechanic stationed on Kaneohe Bay, Marine Corps Base Hawaii, and was promoted posthumously to the rank of Corporal on June 4, 2017. He was also an expert marksman and was often asked to help train younger Marines on the gun range.
He was survived by both his parents, his four brothers and eight sisters, and his sweetheart.
"Watch therefore, because you know not the day nor the hour"
