Colleen O'Hagan

October 13, 1950 — December 4, 2019

Colleen Marie OHagan, 69, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2019. Visitation will be held 9:30-10:30am Thursday, December 12th at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 4101 E. 105th Terr, Kansas City, MO followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Catholic Charities of Kansas City-St. Joseph or St. Thomas More Church.
Colleen was born October 13, 1950 in Holyoke, MA to Richard N. and Catherine R. OHagan, the third of their seven children. She spent four decades in military family life and lived in fifteen different locations throughout her life before settling for good in Kansas City in 1987.
She was a devoted daughter, mother and sister. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Eileen McCauley. She is survived by her children, Patrick McGalliard and Lauryn Haake, their spouses Laura and Patrick; her 7 grandchildren, Nicholas, Ashley, Annie, Christopher, Andrew, Grant and Blake; her brothers, Patrick, Michael, Timothy, John and Dennis OHagan; and several nieces and nephews.
Colleen will be remembered fondly for her athleticism as a youth, her long blond hair, and for her love of anything Irish and green. She was a believer in containers, labels, and ultimately organizing anything. She once hit a cow with a car in California and loved to recount that fact. Her love of movies never wavered, and she always had the best collections of classics. Every room she lived in was occupied by an army of teddy bears. Any story about her family was a story worth telling and re-telling to generation after generation. She never minded a good laugh, and despite her decades of medical challenges she never stopped laughing at herself and kept her sharp wit.
More than anything Colleen will be remembered for her passionate love of her entire family, and that is the story she would want most to be told. And re-told.
