Christine M. Keen

Christine Marie Keen, aged 69, passed away peacefully on September 16th, 2017 with her husband Steve at her side. Chris was born in Kansas City, MO to John Thomas Currigan and Beatrice Cecilia Graf. The youngest of seven children, Christine was beloved sister to Mary Virginia Malone, Beatrice Young, Martina Jarnevic, Tom Currigan, Rita Mills and Marge Carpenter. Christine attended Visitation Catholic School and graduated from Loretta Girls Academy High School in 1966. She worked in the insurance industry prior to her marriage to Steve Keen in December 1992. Chris retired in 2010 and was a devoted Catholic and Eucharistic Minister at the Church of the Nativity in Leawood, KS. In her time off, Chris enjoyed reading books, bird watching, and travelling with her husband to Florida, Bonaire, and elsewhere throughout the Caribbean. Chris is survived by her husband Steve; her son, Brett Stallman and her daughter, Courtney Stallman. She is also survived by her sister, Marge Carpenter and husband Bill. Chris is preceded in death by her parents, John and Beatrice (Graf) Currigan; her sisters, Mary Virginia Malone, Beatrice Young, Martina Jarnevic, Rita Mills; and her brother, Tom Currigan.Thank you to Brookdale Hospice for their presence and guidance during Chriss final days.Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 19th from 6:30 to 7:30pm at Muehlebach Funeral Care, 6800 Troost Ave, KCMO. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, September 20th 11:00am at Church of the Nativity, 3800 W. 119th Street, Leawood, KS 66209. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas, 9720 W. 87th St., Overland Park, KS 66212, or the Alzheimer's Association, 3846 W. 75th St., Prairie Village, KS 66208.
