Charlotte Virginia Burgess

Charlotte Burgess, 89, of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away December 23, 2022, at the Princeton Senior Living facility in Lee’s Summit, MO. Funeral Services will be Friday, January 6 at 11:00am at Muehlebach Funeral Care. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions may be given in Charlotte’s name to the charitable organization of your choice.

Charlotte was born January 20, 1933, the daughter of Forrest and Virginia Farrar, in Clarence, MO where she was raised and the family later moved to Kansas City, MO. After attending both Northeast and later graduating from Paseo High School, she graduated from the Kansas City Business School. From there she had a career in both bookkeeping and office management for several different companies over the years. It was in Kansas City that she met her husband, Edward W. Burgess. They were married on February, 1956, a bond that lasted 64 years until Edward’s death in 2020. From that union they had three sons. Charlotte enjoyed church and watching her son’s participation in youth and high school sports.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons (Timothy-infancy and William-18 yrs.), Grandson Christopher and brother, Leon Farrar. She is survived by her son Steven Burgess and wife Mary Lou, her granddaughter Beth Ann King and husband Brandon and two great grandchildren, Brooks and Brynn, her niece Melinda and nephew Weldon.

The family would like to thank the caregivers of Monarch Hospice (Sarah, Alley and Caroline) and the staff at The Princeton Senior Assisted Living for providing compassionate care in her final days.
