Charles J. Naudet, 85, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017. Chuck was born on August 30, 1931, in Coffeyville, Kansas. In 1950, he graduated from Bishop Hogan High School, where he met his wife of sixty-two years, Mary Lou Pavela Naudet. He graduated from Rockhurst College and received his masters from Leslie College in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. In 1954, Chuck and Mary Lou were married and began their new life together in south Kansas City.
Chuck taught math and computer science at Truman High School, where he forever impacted the lives of his students. He was on the ground floor of computer science educationhe taught the subject before the Independence School district owned computer science books. He was also an active member of St. Catherines Parish. He participated in the choir, led rosary groups, taught religion classes, and coached the "Wee Warriors" grade school football team. After leaving Truman High, he taught at Southwest High School in Kansas City, Missouri.
Following his retirement, Chuck had his own company, Tax-Care, where he completed income tax returns for many friends and family members. He especially loved working with his clients year after year and seeing their children grow. Chuck and Mary Lou raised seven children and were blessed with twenty-three grandchildren and an unending number of great-grandchildren.
Chuck never met a stranger. Anyone who interacted with him, even for a short period of time, experienced his faith, humility, and his witty, wacky, and silly sense of humor! You never left him without a smile on your face! Heaven truly gained a saint.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Josephine Naudet, his two brothers, Raymond and Richard Naudet, and his grandson, Nathaniel Naudet. Chuck is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Naudet, and his children: Christina Kirk (Steve), Dr. Charles Naudet, Jr. (Bev), Sharon Brandes, Tom Naudet (Mary), Janet Knapp (Dale), Jim Naudet (Rita), and Paul Naudet (Kendra).
The Rosary will be prayed at 5pm by the Serra Club on Monday, January 16th at St. Catherine of Siena Parish, 4101 E. 105th Terr, KCMO 64137. Visitation will follow from 5:30-7pm. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30am, Tuesday, January 17th. Burial following at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Chuck was an active member of the Serra Club. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Seton Center (KCMO) or St. Catherine of Siena Parish.
