Charles "Chuck" Gosselin, Sr.
Charles "Chuck" Gosselin, Sr., age 85, a life-long resident of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away in the comfort of his home on Sunday, February 20, 2022. Chucks services will be held at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 75th and Main, KCMO. The Rosary will be prayed at 5:30 pm Friday, February 25th, with visitation following until 8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 am on Saturday, February 26th. Internment immediately following at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd., KCMO.
Chuck was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on January 15, 1937 to Fred Gosselin and Eileen (Prussing) Gosselin. He has one younger brother, Milton "Bud". He grew up in Kansas City. He attended St. Elizabeth and St. Peters elementary schools, graduated from Bishop Hogan High School, and went on to complete his Master of Science in Physics from Rockhurst University. He married Margaret "Peggy" Walters in June of 1959.
Chuck and Peggy had four children, three daughters and one son. Chuck was a professor with MCC for over thirty years teaching math, science and physics. His passions in life were family and friends, flying, the Lake of the Ozarks, eating food (including mold), and teaching anyone who would listen about the scientific explanations of everyday occurrences, the best of which was how a straw works.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Peggy, and his parents, Fred and Eileen. Chuck is survived by daughters Teresa Medina (Frank), Cathy Coffman (Keith), Mary Carter (Michael), son Charlie Gosselin Jr. (Joan); brother, Bud Gosselin; grandchildren Lauren, Michael (Gabby), Maddy and Angie Medina, Connor and Bryan Coffman, Makenzie and Dariyah Carter, Chaz (Mary Margaret) and Chase Gosselin; great grandchildren Olivia Medina and Charlie Gosselin IV; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Chuck will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
