Charles 'Charlie Brown' L. Roberts, Jr.

Charles "Charlie Brown" Roberts, Jr., of Kansas City, MO, passed away November 22, 2016. A visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 25 from 6:00 8:00 p.m. with the Knights of Columbus ceremony and rosary at 7:00 pm at Christ the King Church, 8510 Wornall Rd., KCMO. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, Nov. 26 at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Christ the King Food Pantry.
Charles was born March 22, 1929 to Charles and Johanna Roberts. He grew up in Our Lady of Sorrows Parish and attended Our Lady of Sorrows grade school and was a member of St. Augustine Parish. He graduated from De La Salle Military Academy in 1947. He was also a 4th degree member of the OHara Knights of Columbus and a member of the Father Donnelly Assembly. He met the love of his life, Patricia Ann McGlynn at a Halloween party and were married in June of 1951. Leonards work career started by helping his father deliver the Kansas City Star and then worked as a custodian at the Downtown Commerce Bank of Kansas City. His final job was working for KCATA for 30 years. He remained a lifelong union member receiving his 50 year card as a member of the Local Transportation Union
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charles L., Sr. and Johanna; his wife of 53 years, Patricia Roberts. He leaves behind his sons, Steven R. Roberts and wife Kathleen and Charles P. Roberts, 2 grandsons, Brandon Roberts of IA and Conor Roberts of Greenwood, MO as well as nieces and nephews.


The Rosary will be prayed at 7:00pm.
