Calvin Lee Doerksen, 67, of Lawrence, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, September 4th, 2018 in Kansas City, Missouri. Visitation will take place on Saturday, September 8th at 2 p.m. with a memorial service at 3 p.m. at Muehlebach Funeral Care, 6800 Troost Ave., KCMO.
Cal was born in Hutchinson, Kansas on September 5, 1950 to Martin and Bertha (Toews) Doerksen. He grew up on a hog farm in Inman, Kansas, and spent most of his early life there until he moved to Kansas City. There are many fond memories of "life on the farm" with Cal's family and friends. Cals life work was in carpentry and construction, and he also served several years in the Navy during the Vietnam War.
Cal leaves behind his wife, Mary (Pankratz), and three children: Jake Doerksen and his wife Lisa Meinen; Bridget Doerksen Anoushfar and her husband Dr. Shar Anoushfar; Grant Doerksen and his wife Caitlin. He also leaves his grandchildren: Isaac and Fiona Doerksen; Sophia and Rocky Anoushfar. He leaves his brother, Brian Doerksen and his wife Teresa and their children, Martin Doerksen; Bethany Doerksen-Klopp and her husband Dustin and their son, Jace Klopp. He leaves behind beloved members of the Pankratz Family. Cal also leaves behind a host of Doersken family members.
