Barbara Kay Hall, age 79, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at her home with her family and soulmate, Al Vidricksen, by her side. A Visitation will be held at Muehlebach Funeral Care, 6800 Troost Avenue, Kansas City, Missouri, on Wednesday, September 27th from 11:00am-12:00pm, with the service beginning at 12:00pm. Following the service, burial will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Kansas City, Missouri. Barbara was born on June 14, 1938, in LaMonte, Missouri, to Herbert D. Russell and Anna F. (Martin) Russell. Barbara grew up in Kansas City, Kansas, and graduated from Argentine High School in 1956. She spent a majority of her working years as a Department Manager, Administrative Assistant, and City Ambassador (she loved her Green Coat status) along with many other roles within the City of Merriam, Kansas. One of her other accomplishments was being a part of the Ladies Oriental Shrine. Barbara was also an attendee of the Mid America Church of the Nazarene in Olathe, Kansas. Her and Al attended services there every Sunday.Barbara had a passion for dancing. Square dancing, ballroom dancing, you name it she could do it! Her passion of dancing was shared with her soulmate, best friend, and dancing partner, Al Vidricksen. They were as close as a man and woman could be. Barbara was also an incredibly caring mother. She made sure her three children were always taken care of, along with her grandchildren, and even great grandchildren! Barbaras faith, family, and friends were the most important thing to her.She is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Anna. Barbara is survived by her soulmate, Al Vidricksen; daughter, Debbie Mertz; sons, Richard Hall and wife Brenda, and Christopher Hall and wife Paula; grandchildren, Amber Hall, Sarah Mertz, Kevin Mertz, Kyle Mertz, Corissa Hall, and Kody Hall; great grandchildren, Keymani Mertz, Kylea Mertz, Keyton Mertz, and Hannah Mertz; as well as her brother, Donnie Russell. The family suggests memorial contributions go to the band, Roland Blackman and The Playboys, or the dancing groups of Johnson County Community Center.
