Barbara June Diment (née Hubbard), born on June 13, 1937, in Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2026, in Overland Park, Kansas. She was 88 years old.
Barbara's early years were spent in Missouri, where she attended North Kansas City High School. Her pursuit of education led her to Central Missouri State College and later Emporia State University, reflecting her dedication to learning and personal growth.
Barbara was a woman of varied interests and passions. She was an active member of the Beatrix Potter Society, where she shared her appreciation for literature and the arts. Additionally, she was involved with the Daughters of the American Revolution, demonstrating her commitment to preserving history and honoring her heritage.
Family was central to Barbara's life. She is survived by her son Jon, her son Paul, her granddaughter Abigail, and her grandson Joseph. She was predeceased by her first husband Carl Simonie and their daughter Gia Simonie. Later in life, she married John Diment, who also preceded her in death. Barbara was also predeceased by her brother Jon Hubbard.
Barbara's memory will be cherished by those who knew and loved her. May her legacy of love for family, education, and community bring comfort to all who mourn her passing.
