Barbara Ann (Morrison) Alderman, 85, of Kansas City, MO passed away June 20, 2022. Born in Kansas City, August 12, 1936, to Alexander Bruce Morrison and Anne Marie (Ross) Morrison, she grew up with brothers Dickie, Jerry and Jimmy and was very close to her maternal grandmother, Carmella Calderello. She graduated from Bishop Hogan High School and attended St. Marys of Leavenworth College majoring in Medical Technology.

On June 25, 1955, Barbara married Thomas F. Alderman. She left college to work as a medical secretary in Memphis, TN while her husband attended medical school there. They moved to West Virginia for a surgical residency program and started a family of their own.

Kansas City was always home to both Barb and Tom, and in 1966 they returned to rejoin both their extended families, and to raise their own family of six children. Barbara was a full-time mother and homemaker while her children were growing up. Later in life, she became a real estate agent with Reece/Nichols Realtors, and enjoyed helping her friends and family sell and buy new homes. She spent her spare time volunteering with various charities associated with the Catholic Church and St. Josephs Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Thomas F. Alderman, her brothers Dickie and Jerry Morrison, her parents Bruce and Marie Morrison, her grandmother Carmella Calderello, her daughter-in-law Lisa (Creek) Alderman, her godson E.J. Walter, her niece Colleen Alderman and, most recently, her best friend Brian Janner.

Barbara is survived by her brother Jim Morrison, her children Theresa (Phillip Thornburg), Sheila, Daniel (Amy), Anthony, Louis, and Alexander (Varvara), along with 13 grandchildren, Rachel, Matthew, Thomas, Daniel, Madalyn, Grace, Hunter, Colton, Benjamin, Mia, Josephine, Clementyne and Elise, and great-grandchildren Jude and Elena.

Visitation will be held at 9:30am, Saturday, July 9th at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11822 Holmes Rd., Kansas City MO, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. Immediately after Mass there will be a procession to the Inurnment Ceremony held at Mount Moriah Cemetery, 10507 Holmes Rd. KCMO.
