Arthur George Swanson

Arthur George Swanson, 98, of Kansas City, MO, passed away on May 7, 2021. Viewing will take place from 3:00 pm 5:00 pm, Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Muehlebach Funeral Care. Graveside services with Military Honors will take place Friday, May 14, 2021, at 1:30 pm at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Arthur was born on March 4, 1923 in Kansas City, MO to Gotthard F. and Anna (Gilbert) Swanson. He attended Center High School and graduated in 1941. Arthur was a standout athlete in Track and Field and was the captain of the Basketball team. He joined the United States Army on January 22, 1943 and served in the Pacific during World War II.
Arthur married Virginia A. Scott in October of 1946 and they were married for 58 years. Virginia passed away on May 19, 2005. He spent his entire career as a supervisor for AT&T.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, brother Gilbert Swanson (Norma), and sister Evelyn (Maurice) Nickle and brother-in-law, Neal Tait. He is survived by his sister Florence Tait as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
