Alec Braden Rush

January 19, 1998 — April 17, 2018

Alec Braden Rush, 20, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. He will be forever remembered and cherished as a truly caring and loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend.
Alec was born on January 19, 1998 in Kansas City, Missouri to his parents, Todd E. Rush and Angela G. Rush. He grew up in a loving family with his older brother, Anthony M. Rush.
Alec attended Summit Christian Academy in Lees Summit and continued his higher education at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg. He was a Junior at UCM in pursuit of a Secondary Education Degree.
Alec was loved by many and made an impact on those whose paths he crossed. He was charismatic, humble, and always put others before himself. He was caring, sweet, ambitious, and a fun person to be around. He loved the Lord always gave God the glory.
Alec was gifted with superb soccer skills. He was an avid soccer player and in 2016, he began coaching soccer and track & field for 5th and 6th grade levels at his alma mater, Summit Christian Academy. His kicking skills on the soccer field were sought after by the football team, so he helped put the "foot" in football. Alec became a wildlife and game sportsman, especially when it came to enjoying time with his dad, cousins, uncles, and friends on family fishing trips and out on the hunt. He was active in his church through youth leadership ministries. He was a hero thru organ donation, in that, at the end of his life, he gave life to others.
Alec was preceded in death by his grandparents: Richard E. Rush, Gary L. Tooley and Dorothy Elaine (Houston) Tooley. He will be greatly missed by his parents: Todd E. Rush and Angela G. Rush; brother: Anthony M. Rush; great grandmother: Eleanor Mumford; grandparents: Lyle and Kathy McMullin; aunts and uncle: April McMullin and David (Brenda) Rush; cousins: Elena and Connor Rush, and many more beloved family members and friends.
The family will be receiving guests at the Visitation from 9:00 am -12:00 pm ~ Saturday ~ April 21, 2018 at Connection Point Church (formerly First Baptist Church of Raytown); 10500 E State Route 350, Raytown, MO 64138. Following, there will be a Celebration of Life Service from 12:00 pm 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Johnson County Memorial Gardens; 11200 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS 66210.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations go to Summit Christian Academy for the "Alec Rush Memorial Scholarship Fund" c/o Summit Christian Academy-Development Department; 1500 SW Jefferson Lee's Summit, MO 64081. The family would like to thank the First Responders, staff at Research Medical Center and Midwest Transplant Network for all of their loving care of Alec. May Alec rest eternally in Gods loving arms.
