Aileen K. Welsh

Aileen K. Welsh, 77, passed away August 10, 2021. Born December 18, 1943 in Belleville, KS to Donald J. and Leola McGowan. Aileen was a graduate of Southeast High School in Kansas City, MO. She married the love of her life, James P Welsh, and raised three boys in St Catherine Parish, enjoying good times at the frequent neighborhood parties. Aileen spent her professional career in the insurance industry and made many friends during her working years. She found great pleasure in creating beautiful needlepoints, spending time with her quilting ladies, and attending regular pinochle and bridge groups with her friends through the years. Aileens greatest joy was her beloved grandchildren, who will miss her dearly.
Aileen was preceded in death by her husband, James P. Welsh; a daughter, Leanna Marie Welsh; a brother, Gary McGowan, and her parents. She is survived by her sons, Pat Welsh, Mike Welsh and wife Mary, and Marc Welsh; grandchildren, Ryan, Conner, and daughter-in-law, Anne, Thomas and Chloe; a brother, Donald McGowan and wife Carolyn; a sister-in-law, Carolyn; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 11:30am-12:30pm Monday, August 16th at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 4101 E. 105th Terr, Kansas City, MO 64137 followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 pm. Private interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to St. Catherines Church or Kansas City Hospice.
