Thomas E. Stewart, Sr.

Thomas Stewart, Sr., 69, of Kansas City, MO returned home to his Heavenly Father on September 12, 2016. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 am Saturday, September 17th at Christ the King Church, 8510 Wornall Rd., KCMO followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Christ the King Church, DeLaSalle Alumni Association or to the Vitae Foundation, 1731 Southridge Dr. Ste. D, Jefferson City, MO 65109. Tom was born January 24, 1947 in Kansas City, MO to Frank and Betty Stewart. He graduated from DeLaSalle Academy in 1965 and UMKC and proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam era. Tom was an accomplished Eagle Scout of Troop 54 and an active member of the Knights of Columbus. He worked many years with his brother, Frank, in the theatrical supply business and then founded A to Z Theatrical Supply & Services which he owned and operated until his retirement at the end of 2012. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church for over 40 years and daily attended 6:30 am Mass and served in many ways but loved ushering the 8 AM Sunday Mass. Tom was very supportive and involved with the many activities and demands of his children through the years.Tom was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Daniel Stewart, and a daughter, Mary Alice Stewart. He is survived by his grade school sweetheart wife of 45 years, Carolyn (Kammerer) Stewart, sons, Tom Stewart, Jr. and wife Jessica of Encinitas, CA and Michael Stewart of Kansas City, MO, his siblings; Frank Stewart and wife Patt of Springfield, MO, Fred Stewart and wife Geri of Missoula, MT, John Stewart and wife Martha of Napa Valley, CA and Dr. Anne Stewart and husband Dr. Eldon Trame of Belleville, IL, and his in-laws Tom & Jo Kammerer, Jerry & Kaye Meiners, Rosemary & Bruce Gilbert, and John & Beth Kammerer, plus numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
