Nick J. Berardi

On Tuesday, August 15, 2017 Nick Berardi, husband, father, son, brother and friend passed away peacefully at the age of 85 years at Kansas City Hospice House. Nick will be forever remembered by his wife and best friend Angel, and their four children, Beth Rogers (David), Nick Berardi, II (Julia), Katie Hamilton (Jim) and Paul Berardi (Beth Ann) and by their 20 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Judge Edith Messina and Jo Marie Jones (Curt); Nieces and Nephews Alaina Jones, Catherine Jones, Christina Graves (Jonah), Steven Berardi and Stephanie Johnson. Nick was preceded in death by his parents Pietro (Peter) and Caterina (Katie), brother, A.B. Berardi and sister, Rose Lupo (Nick). Nick was born December 4, 1931 in Kansas City, MO to Peter and Katie Berardi (Lupo). He was a graduate of Manual High School. Following graduation Nick entered the United States Air Force serving during the Korean War. Following his military service, he attended and graduated from Pittsburg State University. Nick joined the Kansas City Missouri Fire Department in 1961 and retired after 30 years of service. In retirement Nick and Angel loved to travel, enjoyed many hobbies and cherished spending time with their family and friends.Honorary pallbearers: Anthony Catalano, Marion (Tut) Cipolla, Robert Giarraputo.The family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of Kansas City Hospice for the loving care given to Nick during his final weeks. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 at St. Thomas More Church, 11822 Holmes Rd, Kansas City, MO 64131.In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Road, KCMO or St. Thomas More Church.
