Michelle Ann Edwards

Michelle Ann Edwards, 48, died peacefully on Oct. 2, 2016 at St. Lukes South Hospital, Overland Park, KS. Michelle was born in Kansas City, MO on Sept. 16, 1968.
Michelle graduated from St. Teresas Academy in 1986 and received her undergraduate and Masters degrees in French and French Literature from the University of Kansas (1986-1992).
She worked in the Shawnee Mission School District for 6 years in the YMCA after school program.
Michelle was preceded in death by her maternal great grandmother, Katherine B. McCool; maternal grandparents, Edward Austin and Mary K. Lewis; and her paternal grandparents, Isabelle Myers and Leon Edwards.
She is survived by her parents, Gayle and Randy Edwards; aunt and uncle, Judy and Craig Arnold, all of Overland Park, KS; and her four-legged constant companion, Lexi.
The Visitation for Michelle will be held at Church of the Ascension, 9512 W. 127th St, OPKS, on Wed., Oct. 5, 2016 starting at 8:30am followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am. She will be buried in Mt. Muncie Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS.
Michelles family requests no flowers. In honor of Michelle, a memorial contribution can be made to Wayside Waifs. Michelle was a transplant recipient and at her death she was able to become a donor, giving life to others through the Midwest Donor Transplant program.
