Gary S. Smith

Gary S. Smith, 68, passed away Sept. 16, 2019 at his home. Born February 20, 1951 in Kansas City, MO to Robert J. and Margaret T. (Williams) Smith. Gary worked as CFO for Livestock Marketing Association until 2002, owned a franchise of CardSmart card and gift store in Leawood, KS until 2008, and then following his love of interior decorating, most recently worked at Couches to Curios in Overland Park. Gary was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Smith; daughters, Whitney Gaughan & husband Eric, Taylor Carter and husband Tyler; grandchildren, Corey and Charlie Rose Carter, Kerry, Genevieve, Jude, Magdalene and Georgia Gaughan; brothers, Doug M. Smith and wife Cheryl and Brian K. Smith; nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 9-10am at Holy Cross Church, 8311 W. 93rd St, Overland Park, KS followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10am on Tuesday, September 24. Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Assoc. The obituary in its entirety can be viewed at www.muehlebachchapel.com
