"Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control," are considered the fruit of the Spirit as told to us in Galatians of the Bible. Add quiet humor plus hard work ethics and you have a beautiful description of Frank Council.

Frank Mahan Council (January 16,1932 - February 3,2018) was
born in Praire Grove, Arkansas and raised in Lincoln, Arkansas. Franks parents were Francis and Maggie May (Hannah). He had one sister Clara Sue, and two half-siblings Joe and Marteen - all deceased.

Frank graduated from Lincoln High in 1949 and joined the USAir Force serving until 1953. Frank then began his professional career at McDonnell Aircraft in St. Louis, MO starting as a Flight Line Inspector and advancing until he became the Superintendent of Nondestructive Testing Department. He retired from McDonnell Douglas (now known as Boeing) in 1990. Frank married Virginia Lou Rauch from Lincoln, Arkansas on June 2, 1956. They began their married life in Overland MO and raised three children: Frank Paul Council who married Robyn Hempel and have one child, Natalie (Council) Seebeck. Natalie and her husband Joe are parents to Lou and Ava Seebeck; David Wayne Council who married Judy Schneider and have two children Mark Council and Mae (Council) Sheaffer married to Kevin; and Betty Jeanine (Council) Hathhorn married to Brian who have four children: Adam who is married to Grace (Horn)Hathhorn, Emily Hathhorn, Benjamin Hathhorn, and Henry Hathhorn.

While in the St. Louis area, Frank and Virginia were faithful members of the Home Heights Presbyterian Church. During the weekends, it was quite common to find Frank helping others, either church members or neighbors who just needed a hand. Frank and Virginia enjoyed playing cards with church friends. They also spent much time with Franks sister Susie and her husband Otho Cole and their family. Vacations were mostly spent traveling to Arkansas to visit Virginia s sister Mary and her brother Leon and their families.

Following his retirement, Frank and Virginia moved to their dreamland farm in Nevada, Missouri, where Frank enjoyed being a gentleman cattle rancher. A typical and perfect day for Frank during the farm years (1990 thru 2012) would have been something like this: up early to check on his cows, join Virginia for a pancake breakfast, spend the day outdoors working in his garden until the grandkids arrived for cherished tractor rides. In the evening Frank would have grilled hamburgers on the patio as the sun set over the pretty pond near the front of the house.

In 2012 Frank and Virginia sold their farm to move to Kansas City MO allowing them to be close to their daughter as Virginias health declined due to Alzheimers Disease (11/25/2014.) Frank continued to be a good neighbor to all as he also experienced the challenges of living with Alzheimers until his graceful and peaceful passing. His family is grateful for the care received at Brookdale.

Franks charming smile will be remembered by all who loved him. His strong values and love of God have been faithfully passed on to his children and grandchildren.
