Anna Mildred Sheffer

Anna Mildred Sheffer, 87, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away on February 1, 2017. Visitation will be held at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church on Friday, February 10th, 10:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial following at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Lees Summit Historical Cemetery.
Anna was born on May 14, 1929 in Kansas City, Missouri. She graduated from Ruskin High School and worked as a Real Estate Broker in Kansas City for more than 30 years. Anna lived and volunteered in the Sante Fe Hills community and was a faithful member of the Catholic Church. In her spare time she enjoyed spending time with her family, walking, yoga, puzzles, and volunteering with the local Foster Grand Parents program.
She was preceded in death by her parents Richard VanDeVyvere, Mary Clara (Kurzweil), and stepmother, Theresa; husband, John J. Sheffer; son, Lawrence; and sister, Catherine Reutter. She is survived by three sisters and brother: Ruth Simpson, Rosie Burns, John VanDeVyrere, and Margaret Gouger; three children: Mary Settle (Joe), Jean Stephens (Terry), Joseph T. Sheffer (Cathy); six grandchildren: David Settle (Sonja), Raima Bowcaster (Shaun), Ruth Seba (Eric), Kimberly Steiner (Aaron), Jasmine Settle, and Lily Settle; and eight great grandchildren: Jack, Claire and Brooke Settle, Glory Bowcaster, Caleb and Olivia Seba, Shelby and Lucas Steiner.
