Batesville Reforestation Program

The Living Memorial tree planting program was established in 1976 and has grown to be the largest private reforestations project in the United States. When a casket or a cremation product is selected for a funeral at Muehlebach Funeral Home, a tree is planted in memory of the deceased. Through agreements with various government agencies, the program nationwide has been responsible for reforesting thousands of acres with more than 9 million trees.
